Michael & Michael completed its award winning salon redesign in late 2015 and has received the prestigious 2016 NAHA award for best salon design in North America. Salon Today Magazine named Michael & Michael as a 2016 Salon of the Year, Canadian Salon Magazine included our salon among some of the “best salon designs” around the globe, and we were awarded the Grand Prize for Cutting Edge Design by Takara Belmont.
The carefully planned expansion and redesign elegantly combines the original 1885 storefront with the adjacent 1915 storefront, paying homage to the early 20th century architectural details – exposed joists and brick, industrial skylights, clerestory, original maple floors and vintage hex tile –while at the same time, adding contemporary elements with a touch of glam and sparkle. An abundance of natural light pours though 7 skylights creating a naturally bright and welcoming space. The result is a spectacular 4400+ square foot salon with a mix of vintage, urban features juxtaposed with beautiful fabrics, mirrored tile, textured wall coverings and glistening modern light fixtures.
